Ichihime Week 2: Family"Hey, I was wondering…if maybe sometime this weekend, you might want to go out with me?"Ichihime Week 2: Family by jylener22
"Oh…with anyone else?"
"Umm…no…I was thinking it would just be the two of us."
"If you already have plans, I completely understand. I just thought I'd ask since I…since I've liked you for a while now and…I want to go out with you."
"Oh…well, you see-"
"Like I said, it's not a big deal if you can't make it-"
"That isn't what I was going to say. I'd like to go out with you, but…"
"But? You like someone else, don't you?"
"No! It's not like that! My parents said that my sisters and I had to bring any guy we liked home to meet them before we could go out with them."
"Oh, well that's fine too."
"Are you sure?"
"Sure. I'd love to meet your family."
"Great! I'll talk to them tonight and then let you know what they say tomorrow."
"All right. Well…I guess I'd better get going then."

“For the love of Pete, Ichigo, what is it this time?!”
“There’s no way I can do this.”
“You are absolutely unbelievable, you know that? We went through this on the last music video you did…where’s Orihime? Let’s bring her in here to talk some sense into your thick skull.”
“Rangiku, why don’t you take a break?”
“Are you going to convince Ichigo to do this, Shuhei?”
“Well…I can try…”
“…Fine. I need some air anyway.”
“Now that she’s not here, why don’t we go back to the beginning. What exactly is the hold-up this time around? I thought you specifically requested that you be involved when Orihime and the Chappy Fanatics were asked to do a music video.”
“…Yeah, I did. It’s just that…have you seen the notes Shunsui sent me?”
“No, what’s wrong wit
Hearts of Glass, Steel, Fire and Ice: Part 19Suddenly, a memory flashed brightly in Orihime's thoughts and she said the first word that came to mind.Hearts of Glass, Steel, Fire and Ice: Part 19 by jylener22
Though Orihime's voice was slightly hoarse and barely above a whisper, Gin had definitely heard her clearly since his eyes immediately went blank with shock. Just as Orihime was beginning to feel confident enough to say something else, the harsh look returned.
"Where did you hear that name?" Gin nearly growled and yet Orihime thought she heard a slight tremor in the tone.
Swallowing to clear her throat, but feeling a bit more at ease, Orihime replied calmly, "I met Rangiku not long ago."
"Yes," said Orihime, "Your name sounded familiar just now, but I couldn't remember where from. Then, I remembered Rangiku telling me a story about a childhood friend of hers. One who had died. A boy named Gin."
Looking Gin with a searching expression, Orihime asked, "Are you Gin?"
He didn't answer. Gin's face was completely unreadable, but Orihime could sense that his brain was

The words were hard to make out, but Orihime's muddled wits were able to make some sense of them. She didn't open her eyes right away since the effort was too much work. Right now, she wanted nothing more than to curl up and drift peacefully back to-
"Hey! Wake up!"
The insistent shaking made Orihime feel extremely nauseous, but when someone slapped her face sharply her eyes flew open. Immediately, her eyes connected with a pair of brilliant blue ones.
"Grimmjow…" Orihime mumbled, "what…"
"Don't talk," cut in Grimmjow, "Just…just lay there, but stay awake. Don't fall asleep."
Not having the energy or brainpower to argue with him, Orihime complied. Looking up at him, Orihime attempted to smile, but apparently it didn't work very well since Grimmjow stared at her for a few seconds before laying her on the ground as quickly as he dared and then standing up.
Hearing the crunching of snow drawing near, Orihime was about to tur

It was going to be a long night.
Here he was, lying in bed alone, he couldn’t sleep, his children were sleeping but that wouldn’t likely be for long if the distant sounds of thunder were any indication. It was going to rain. And Orihime wasn’t home yet. He would have to face this alone.
The rain had become less of a depressant on Ichigo after Rukia had helped him to begin putting the blame he had burdened himself with, over his mother’s death, to rest. Nowadays, during storms like these, Orihime was normally at his side, holding him, so he could allow himself to believe that he was protecting her from the storm that raged around them. This time, the storm had come when he was totally unprepared and completely alone with his memories and thoughts for company.
Obviously, it began with his mother’s death. Her weight pressed him down into the dirt, but that was nothing compared to the weight that had settled itself firmly on his mind, heart and so

“The song is wrong.”
Wrenching his gaze away from the movie they were watching, Ichigo looked at his wife with curiosity as he asked, “What?”
Licking her spoon clean of all chocolate ice cream residue, Orihime happily scooped out another spoonful of creamy goodness as she replied, “The song ‘Diamonds Are A Girl’s Best Friend’. It’s wrong.”
Ichigo waited for a time for Orihime to continue on with her little observation and when she didn’t he pressed, “Why do you think that?”
Before she could answer, something jumped out of the shadows in the movie causing Orihime to jump in her seat and give a sharp squeak of terror. Worst of all, she nearly upset her bowl of ice cream. Nearly.
Once she had calmed down again, Orihime looked at Ichigo with a smile and said, “Oh…that was close.”
Looking at the screen, Ichigo said drolly, “Well, it might have been a close shave for you

Home is where the heart is.
A commonly used phrase, but one that people sometimes don’t fully understand or appreciate. So, just for fun and giggles, let’s follow one man on his journey home and see if we can’t make a few mental lights bulbs click on.
We’ll begin by having this particular man go off on a business trip somewhere far away from home…let’s say Yugoslavia. I mean, what other reason could someone possibly have to go to such a place besides on a business trip? Anyway, said man is now going to begin his journey by flying back to his homeland of Japan and more specifically touching down in Tokyo.
The man will then acquire some sort of transportation in order to continue on to his hometown of Karakura. So far, so good…at least mostly. Obviously, having idiotic drivers cut you off in rush hour traffic really wouldn’t do much to improve anyone’s mood. And that can be especially irritating if that same ma

“Do you want to know a secret?”
“Do you promise not to tell?”
“Of course I will! I won’t tell a soul! Cross my heart and hope to die!”
“Let me whisper in your ear.”
“Umm, ok…but there’s no one else around us…”
“I’ll say the words you long to hear.”
“Ichigo, quit teasing and just tell me!”
“I’m in love with you.”
“Oh…I love you too.”
“I know. You’ve loved me longer, but it was quite a while before I figured out your secret.”
“I wasn’t trying to keep it a secret…or maybe I was…I don’t know…”
“Well, that just made it a secret well worth discovering.”
